most disgusting meals and service I have ever received in Dunedin.
rude staff, HUGE health and safety concerns (cooks handling food with bare hands, hot meat straight off grill too plate, salad placed on plate with bare hands and wait staff placing salad back onto the plate with her hands) over cooked or undercooked meals, half the advertised meal missing.
my daughter took the over cooked things that were supposed to be sausage but looked and felt like rubbery dog pooh back to the staff and they didn't care. these were purchased for my 8 month old grandson who like chomping on meat with his new sharp teeth. even my daughter couldn't bite into them. we had to ask for the peas that went with his potatoe and got a small of undercooked cold peas.
my main meal was entrée size and had half of the items missing.
I have tried to correspond with them regarding my concerns and completely ignored.
doesn't even deserve one star.
and meals weren't cheap but would rather pay more and go somewhere we know we are going to get great service and meals
Hadn't been back to Cableways for well over a year ( no particular reason!) but say that the monteiths wild foods was on so thought I'd give their dish a crack.
Great venison dish that was really suited to the Winter Ale that it was served with...add in the winter veg and all the vital food groups covered! Good luck with the competition Cableways!
Cableways offer a great atmosphere and a fabulous food, great value both lunch and dinner.
The place is usually fairly busy so booking a table is advised, especially at the weekend.
A roast is offered on friday and Sunday lunch and is by far the best I have had in Dunedin. Highly recommended.
